Norah Jones Picks Her Favorite Songs

Posted by admin - 2011-10-14 09:21:18

Fifteen years ago, Jones first fell in love with Heart of Gold, and she's been a hardcore Neil Young fan since. "At night, when I'm cooking, I listen to him really loud," she says. "It's hard for me to listen to anything else." Over the years she's seen countless Young shows and even performed with him at the Bridge School Benefit in 2008. "There's something so emotional about the way he plays and writes," she adds. "I always cry when I see him live."

Norah Jones and Tony Bennett 'Speak Low' Together

Posted by admin - 2011-08-30 09:58:24

I'll have whatever Tony Bennett's been having. The inimitable crooner, who launched his career when Harry Truman was president and Gene Autry and the Andrew Sisters were at the top of the charts, is celebrating his 85th birthday this year with a new album. The songs on Duets II, culled from the Great American Songbook, aren't super-surprising, but the artists who sing with him are. Let's start with Lady Gaga. She and Bennett perform "The Lady Is a Tramp." Then there's Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Queen Latifah and Willie Nelson. The late Amy Winehouse sings "Body and Soul" with Bennett. The album also features Norah Jones and Bennett trading verses on the 1940s Broadway song "Speak Low."
