this song kinda makes you think about the meaning. it sorta sounds like its saying that you know someone out there is your true love, but you just havent found them yet. it keeps you beleiving and hoping.

Well this song is so beautiful! My interpretation of the word "Lonestar" is that is related to the state of Texas, USA. The state of the "Lonestar" right? Of course is like a metaphor. But they are not two sepparate words as Jewelz says, in my oppinion...
I love the version of this song played with Willie Nelson, he has a great song to sing this tune.

This song really lifts me up right now. My girlfriend is in South Carolina at basic training, while I'm in Texas. We used to sit around and listen to this song over and over while she was here, she even sang it to me every once in a while. I feel like we're both sitting back and wondering what each other is thinking, and if we're possibly looking at the same star. I often look at her picture and think of the times we've had together and that's what gets me through the day. I can feel her "shining down on me." And she should know that her "Lonestar" is here for her.

This is my lulla bye....It makes me think of that special guy in my life that could be in fact looking up at the same star. He is my lonestar, though he will never know it. It also makes me think of the people in Heaven looking down on me giving me hope to make it back there one day. I love to listen to this song, over and over, and sing the lyrics to myself.
